Our Synthetic Enamel Pins continue the fine-art tradition of glass enameling. Synthetic enamel pins are made from hand-pouring powdered glass into the recesses of a die-struck (stamped) brass base. The brass can be plated in gold, silver, or black nickel. After being baked at a very high temperature, the glass enamel is sanded and polished to be flush with the metal lines that separate the colors. This gives the pins a smooth and lustrous quality.
Look no further, our synthetic enamel Lapel Pins are custom cloisonné pinscustom made with your design using this 13th century process. Synthetic enamel lapel pins are created using an ancient metalworking technique developed in the Far East, a multi-step process that remains relatively unchanged today. The technique results in a jewelry-like finish with exceptional durability that far exceeds that of other types of Lapel Pin processes. For this reason, synthetic enamel is the preferred type for collectors` lapel pins.
As seen in the gallery photos below, the color palette is rich, but finite, and unique to this process. Please browse the gallery, as it should help you decide whether synthetic enamel is the best method to use for your custom design lapel pin.
